There are currently two ways you can access support from Petals:
If you received your maternity care through one of our NHS partners listed below, please click on the relevant button to find out more and request counselling.
If your maternity care was not provided by one of our NHS partners, you may still be able to access counselling through our charitable pathway. You can make a self referral here.
Please be aware that demand for our service is currently very high and, sadly, we’re not always able to offer counselling to everyone who reaches out to us. Every referral matters deeply to us and if we are unable to offer you counselling at this time, we will ensure we signpost you to other support. The whole team at Petals are working hard to grow and secure more funding so that we can support as many people as possible, as soon as we can.
Please note, Petals is a very responsive service, but we do not operate 24 hours. There are some excellent free listening services available to you if you need to talk to someone right now:
Samaritans: Call 116 123
Shout Crisis Text Line: Text ‘Shout’ to 85258
NHS 24: 111
If you are at risk of hurting yourself or someone else, consider seeking support by attending your GP, local A & E or contacting the Emergency Services on 999 [if you urgently need to take action.
Breathing Space: 0800 83 85 87 [if you live in Scotland and urgently need to talk to someone].
