Petals and Twins Trust are working together to offer specialist counselling support for parents and families affected by loss in a multiple pregnancy within the past year.
We understand that a multiple pregnancy can bring additional risks and that when a baby or babies die, the grief can feel especially complex. This may include the heartbreak of losing one twin or more, while also navigating the needs, hopes or anxieties connected to a surviving baby. Parents may be carrying many different emotions at once, and Petals can offer a safe, compassionate space where every part of their experience is heard and held.
Through this partnership, Petals will provide counselling for parents referred by the Twins Trust Bereavement Helpline. This tailored service is here to support parents as they navigate their grief journey, helping them to process the emotional impact of pregnancy or baby loss, trauma, anxiety and the challenges that can follow.
This support is available following:
- Early miscarriage
- Ectopic pregnancy
- Recurrent miscarriage
- Second trimester miscarriage
- Termination of pregnancy for medical reasons
- Stillbirth
- Neonatal loss
- The loss of one twin or more in a multiple pregnancy
Counselling can also support parents experiencing high levels of anxiety in a subsequent pregnancy following a previous loss, often known as pregnancy after loss.
If you fit the above criteria, please ask the professional referring you to complete the form below.
If your loss does not come under any of the above, please still complete our request for counselling form. A member of the Petals Team will always respond to you and signpost you to other services that may be able to offer you support.
With special thanks to Twins Trust.
