Petals is delighted to be working in partnership with Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to deliver our specialist counselling support to bereaved parents who received their care at Queen’s Hospital.

The terms of this partnership state that we are able to provide funded counselling sessions to parents who have experienced any of the below within the last year:

  • Recurrent miscarriage
  • Second-trimester miscarriage
  • Terminations of pregnancy for medical reasons
  • Stillbirth
  • Neonatal Loss (within 28 days of birth)
  • Pregnancy After Loss  – support for high anxiety in a subsequent pregnancy following a loss

Your referral must come from a health care professional in the bereavement midwifery team.  If you fit the above criteria please ask the professional referring you to click HERE to complete our Request for Counselling form.

If your loss does not come under any of the above, it would still be hugely beneficial for both you and us if you complete our Request for Counselling Form.  Our counselling coordinator will always respond to you and signpost you to other services that may be able to offer you support.  Furthermore, the collation of accurate data showing how many parents need our support provides important evidence for us to take to funders as we work hard to expand our service.

If you work in another Trust and are interested in setting up a Petals service, please contact us via [email protected]
