How your money helps
Petals is a registered charity and our specialist counselling is free at the point of need for bereaved parents.
We are proud to partner with NHS trusts who fund our service in certain areas – however, the reality is that if you lined up everyone who experiences baby loss in the UK, the vast majority would only be able to access Petals’ counselling because of the generosity of our donors.
That’s why your support is so vital. For 2025/26, our fundraising target each day is £1525. We are so grateful to every person and organisation who chooses to donate to Petals.
How we put your donations to work
92p of every £1 you give is spent on delivering our specialist counselling service. This covers the salaries and fees we pay our counsellors, their training, the systems we use to deliver our counselling and our direct costs such as heating and IT support.
8p is used to raise the next £1, so we can support more people when they experience pregnancy or baby loss
How we raise money:
In 2025/26 it will cost us £1.2m to provide Petals Counselling to bereaved parents across the UK. We raise money from a number of places, so we are not just relying on a single source of income.
This includes:
-
Donations from individuals and charitable trusts
-
Contracts with NHS trusts or ICBs, which funds our service in specific locations
-
Money raised during fundraising events and challenges
-
Partnerships with companies
-
Income secured from our Petals training and talks we give
-
Sales on our online shop, such as the Baby Loss Awareness Week candle
