In July of 2023, Petals began working in partnership with Our Angels Charity to deliver our specialist online counselling service for women, birthing people and their partners who have experienced baby loss and who received their care from the Harrogate & District NHS Foundation Trust.
The terms of this partnership state that we are able to provide funded counselling sessions to parents who have experienced any of the below within the last year:
- Second Trimester Miscarriage
- Termination for Medical Reasons (TFMR)
- Stillbirth
- Neonatal Loss
- Pregnancy After Loss – support for parents with high anxiety in a subsequent pregnancy following a loss
- Other referral reasons may be accepted if referred by Our Angels or a bereavement midwife
Your referral must come from a health care professional in the bereavement midwifery team. If you fit the above criteria please ask the professional referring you to click HERE to complete our Request for Counselling form. You can email the bereavement midwifery team via [email protected].
If your loss does not come under any of the above, it would still be hugely beneficial for both you and us if you complete our Request for Counselling Form. Our counselling coordinator will always respond to you and signpost you to other services that may be able to offer you support. Furthermore, the collation of accurate data showing how many parents need our support provides important evidence for us to take to funders as we work hard to expand our service.
