Twins Trust

Petals is delighted to be launching a new partnership with Twins Trust to provide our specialist counselling support to bereaved parents of twins, triplets or more.

In the partnership’s pilot phase, 10 sets of bereaved parents (this could be individuals or couples) will be able to access free support from Petals. The counselling provided will be available to people who have lost a whole set of twins, triplets or more and to people who have lost one or more of a set of multiples.

To receive counselling, you must have experienced loss within the past year. After a needs assessment with Twins Trust staff, you’ll have a triage assessment with one of our Petals counselling managers, after which you will have access to five sessions with a specially trained Petals counsellor.

If you are a parent of multiples who has experienced pregnancy or baby loss and would like to find out more and access this specialist support, you can do so by completing the Twins Trust referral form HERE.

“The specialist nature of the Petals Counselling Model focuses on connecting at depth with each parent’s personal experience of trauma and loss.  Our counsellors are therefore practised in working with the complexities of loss that our clients bring to their sessions, sharing their knowledge, skills and deep understanding of the needs of parents facing the loss of multiples or one of a multiple in pregnancy or following birth.”

“We know how deeply the loss of a baby, or babies can affect families, and the pain and grief can be overwhelming, with long-lasting effects. That’s why it’s so important for people to have access to the best emotional support during such a difficult time. We are excited to partner with Petals to offer specialised counselling through our bereavement service, ensuring that those in need receive the compassionate care they deserve.”
