Joanne Brown, Petals Counsellor
Hello, I am Jo.
Every parent who has suffered the loss of a baby has a unique perspective which requires respect and care whilst they navigate what the loss means to them. Wholehearted support is needed whilst sharing with someone else the grief that is felt.
I have spent my adult life working within midwifery, nursing and counselling and have a strong commitment to maternal and paternal psychological health and wellbeing. It is vital that parents feel listened to within a warm, compassionate counselling session.
My aim is for you to feel the counselling session is a safe place to share your feelings of the loss of your precious and unique baby, with all the hopes and dreams you had.
If you are about to begin counselling at Petals, please know we are here for you so however you are feeling when you arrive at any counselling session, we will support you and be there with you in that moment.
At a time where you may have felt things were out of your control…you will be in control of the counselling sessions. You will not be pushed or pressured in to talking about things you do not want or feel able to at that time.
