Great North Run – Sunday 13th Sept 2026

60,000 incredible AJ Bell Great North Run participants run from the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne to South Shields each year to fundraise, have fun, achieve a fitness goal, and join an amazing running community, no matter their experience or ability. From the rush of the Red Arrows flying overhead to the oggy-oggy-oggy chants, Great North Run magic can be hard to understand – until you’ve experienced it for yourself.

Join #TeamPetals for The Great North Run for your chance to be part of the world’s biggest half marathon on 13 September.

This iconic race has welcomed millions of runners since 1981, and this year marksan incredible 45 years of the famous event.

As part of #TeamPetals, you’ll be supported from sign-up to race day, and will receive your own Petals Running T-Shirt or vest for training and racing in. Please read the information below before signing up:

Ready to run for #TeamPetals? Choose from the two following options when you sign up:

• I have my own ballot place
  Free. By choosing this ticket type you are confirming that you have purchased a place directly from the Great Run team and would like to fundraise for Petals. As you are running on your own place, no minimum fundraising targets apply. You will still be a part of #TeamPetals.
  

• I’d like a Petals Charity place
  By choosing this ticket type you are agreeing to pay a registration fee of £35.50 and fundraise a minimum of £350 for Petals. You do not need to sign up with Great Run – we’ll handle everything for you.
