Edyta Ahmed, Petals Counsellor

Experiencing the loss of a baby during pregnancy or shortly after birth can be one of the most profound and life-changing experiences a parent can face. Grief following pregnancy loss is deeply personal, and there is no right or wrong way to navigate it. Whether your loss is recent or occurred many years ago, I offer a compassionate, confidential space where you can talk openly about your experience and be heard without judgement.
As an integrative counsellor, I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs, recognising that every person’s grief journey is unique. My aim is to provide a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace.

Within this supportive space, you can expect warmth, empathy, and genuine understanding. Together, we may explore the impact of your loss, the challenges you are facing in daily life, your relationships, identity, hopes, fears, and the ways grief continues to affect you. I will work alongside you to help make sense of your experience, develop coping strategies where appropriate, and support you in finding a way forward that feels meaningful and manageable.

My hope is that through counselling you feel supported, understood, and empowered to process your grief in a way that honours both your loss and your individual journey.

I am a qualified integrative counsellor and Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have specialised experience supporting bereaved parents and families following pregnancy and baby loss and have been working in this field for the past eight years. Alongside my counselling practice, I continue to work in a specialist role supporting families affected by pregnancy loss, providing ongoing insight into the complex emotional impact of bereavement and the unique challenges parents can face.

My professional experience has enabled me to support individuals and couples through a wide range of experiences, including miscarriage, recurrent pregnancy loss, termination for medical reasons (TFMR), stillbirth, neonatal loss, and the emotional impact of subsequent pregnancies. I am committed to providing sensitive, trauma-informed support that recognises the lasting significance of these losses and the individuality of each family’s experience
