This morning, the UK government announced that parents who experience a miscarriage before 24 weeks of pregnancy will be entitled to bereavement leave under a planned law change.
This change to the Employment Rights Bill will give both parents the legal right to time following a pregnancy loss at any stage – an amendment to the current law that only allows bereavement leave for losses after 24 weeks.
