Jurassic Sunrise Trek – 26th September 2027 Join the journey, change a life.
Lace Up and Trek is our newest series of fundraising adventures, designed to take you to unique bucket list destinations across the UK, supported by the Petals Community, as you raise money to support more bereaved parents with Petals’ specialist baby loss counselling.
Each event will include an epic adventure to a must-see location – a chance to challenge yourself, find time to reflect on your own journey, or get together with friends and family in remembrance of a little one lost too soon.
Accompanied by Petals staff, counsellors and other supporters, the Lace Up and Trek series will take you to the top of mountains, along beautiful coastlines, and around breathtaking lakes – all while raising vital funds to support more parents following the heartbreak of baby loss.
We are so excited to launch two Lace Up events for 2027: Snowdon By Night – 20th June 2027 and Jurassic Sunrise Trek – 26th September 2027
Jurassic Sunrise Trek
Jurassic Sunrise TrekIn the early hours of the morning on 26th September, we will set off on our next Lace Up adventure – Jurassic Sunrise Trek
The Jurassic Coast offers a fantastic opportunity to explore the area’s sea views, rolling hills and beautiful countryside. Starting from Swanage, we will get an early start to watch the sun rise above the sea from Durlston Head before continuing along the coast. We will then finish the route along the Purbeck Hills and descend back to Swanage to round off the trek.
This trip will include:
- A guided trek, led by a qualified and experienced team and alongside Petals staff
and fellow supporters - Petals merchandise to wear during the trek, including our Petals pink boot laces
- Refreshments around the halfway point
- Dedicated support from our fundraising team to help you reach your target
What?
This very special trek will begin with a quiet moment to reflect as we watch the sunrise from Durlston Head with #TeamPetals staff, counsellors and families. Together, we will enjoy the changing landscape as we walk along the beautiful Jurassic Coast and then head inland, across the valley and onto the chalk hills of the Purbeck Downs.
Where?
Jurassic Coast in Dorset.
The trek will start and end in Swanage, a picturesque seaside town on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, known for its beautiful sandy bay, Victorian charm and spectacular coastal scenery.
We’ll walk approx. 27km with a 725m ascent.
Who?
We’re welcoming anyone over the age of 16.
Whether you’ve been supported by Petals, know someone who has, or just fancy the challenge! Guided by experienced mountain leaders and joined by our Petals Team to support you all the way, we’ll trek together as a group (or in smaller teams depending on numbers), creating a new Lace Up community.
Registration options
There are two registration options for Lace Up and Trek Mount Snowdon:
Petals Charity Place
Pay a reduced registration fee and raise £350 to fund counselling for bereaved parents.
Registration fee: £79
Minimum fundraising target: £350
Self-Funded Place
Fund your space and have no minimum fundraising target – your increased registration fee includes a donation towards our specialist counselling.
Registration fee: £199

Throughout the trek, I had some wonderful, emotional and heartwarming conversations. We shared some laughs too, and I met some truly incredible people. Knowing we were walking for similar reasons hit me a few times, but it felt special to be amongst people who felt called to honour the babies we have lost and raise vital funds for the charity that helped us when we needed it most.
We all had personal stories of why we were doing this climb together. I felt a deep connection with Jonas throughout the experience, and how he lives on in another way which gives me strength, love and connection.
