Lisa Stocking - Counsellor

Hello my name is Lisa, I am an experienced counsellor and registered member of the BACP. I have been drawn to work with loss and trauma after experiencing my own significant and sudden bereavement in 2016. I have a deep empathy for those coping with loss and the trauma that can affect everything and everyone around the loss. It can feel terrifying and chaotic.

I have worked with cancer patients and the bereaved as well as working for NHS Imperial Trust with individuals and couples who have lost a child on the paediatric and neonatal wards. I have gained a deeper understanding of the uniqueness of each person’s grief journey and how holding a warm safe space, free from judgement and assumptions can help with understanding and a path towards the future.

My hope is to offer a place where all feelings and thoughts are welcome, where pain is held and where you can be heard in a time of immense distress; a place where you can feel at ease and be free to express yourself.  Together we can explore strategies to help you cope with distress.

I hold on to hope for you that you will find a way through and begin to look forward and grow around your loss. I see it as a huge privilege to walk some of this grief journey with you.
